The other day my neighbor helped take down one massive problem tree along our property border so to thank him I had him and his wife over for Sunday dinner. I had a big crock-pot of beef stew going since the morning, had fresh dough rising and ready for a loaf of rosemary boule and was excited to prepare a charcuterie platter filled with all homemade goodness.
The charcuterie platter had homemade salami that we made in March of this year homemade chorizo that was just finished up in October, pickled green tomatoes from the garden, green tomato bacon jam - also from the garden. All were a big hit.
