Mid Century canning jars are in!
Posted on January 14 2015
Our vintage mid century mason jars make anything you put in them look good and put you in a good mood. We use the same mason jars we make our soap dispenser out of and simply leave them as is. These jars from the 40's, 50's and 60's work well in many different situations. We have a bunch of them in our cupboard holding everything from rice to oats to bullion cubes.
Zinc tops with glass insulators inside is the first way to tell these jars are the real deal. We never know what we are going to get from our jar guy Mike, that each set of three you order will be a surprise. We have Ball, Kerr, Anchor, Mason Jar, and a few other random kinds here and there. Back when canning was popular there were hundreds of brands available - now sadly to say it has dwindled to just one or two.
These are half quart size mason jars, no longer used for canning, but they have hundreds of potential uses. Store your kids small toys in them, use them in your kitchen to neatly and nicely store grains, pasta, flour, sugar, spices - whatever. Ditch the original containers and put them in these beautiful time pieces. Don't go out and buy some new plastic storage container when you can save an old jar and make it shine again.
